About Croydon GP Hubs

People who live or work in Croydon now have access to a wide range of urgent care services including booked appointments with a GP available from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week across three new GP Hubs.

The new services have been developed in response to local residents who asked for extended opening hours and improved urgent care access to GPs.

Some of the care we deliver

Our GP Hubs deliver GP services as you would expect at your GP practice. The following are examples of issues we can treat:

* Cuts, scratches and bruises
* Sprains & Strains
* Bites
* Minor burns
* Minor eye injuries
* Minor head injuries (without having passed out)
* Minor injuries to limbs, body and face
* First aid

Issues that we CANNOT treat include:

The following are examples of issues we cannot treat:
* Repeat prescribing
* Test requestes (ultrasound, urine etc)
* Dental problems
* Open wound injuries for very young children
* Injuries where an object has gone all the way through a part of the body
* Very heavy bleeding that is not stopping, including nose bleeds
* Injuries where broken glass may have entered the wound
* Injuries requiring X-ray

Don’t just go to A&E

Don’t just go to A&E if it’s not a serious emergency – find the right service – it may be quicker, and even closer to your home.
Using the right service means you don’t spend hours waiting in A&E and treatment can be given quicker to those really in need of urgent care.

Self Care

When it’s not urgent, there are several ways that you can Self Care.

Coughs and colds | Grazes | Hangover. You can treat these at home – in fact, that’s the best place for you.

Self-care is the best choice to treat very minor illnesses and injuries. A range of common illnesses and injuries can be treated at home simply by combining a well-stocked medicine cabinet with plenty of rest. THINK FIRST, DON’T GO TO A&E.
